While our RC 43 elections are over, the craziness of the state, local and national elections are in full blown vigor!
For those of you that don't know.....
Deb Peterson chose not to run again for President of RC 43
I, Felicia Bruce, stepped from VP into her VERY BIG SHOES to assume President of RC 43.
Miriam is doing 'double duty' as both Secretary and Membership chair
Marsha remained as Treasurer
Maxine moved to Buffalo; Miriam took on part of Maxine's role (Membership)
Vice President is a vacancy
Secretary is a vacancy
We are in need of a web person and social media person (could be one or two individuals)
Cheryl Dodes has returned as newsletter editor.
Please consider stepping into a leadership role to help us as we transition. These are different times and they require all of us to stretch into new roles, responsibilities and activities.
For those of you who do not yet know, RC 43 has been having monthly meetings by ZOOM.
While we miss the social interaction of live meetings, zoom has allowed us to stay in touch, get things done and connect in new ways.
PLEASE CONTACT MIRIAM AT miriamtrh@gmail.com to be added to the list of participants! Our next scheduled meeting is 11 AM October 2. You can be seen or unseen (your choice), or just simply heard (by phone only). The choice is yours. These meetings are open to ALL members, not just officers.
Everyone says this is the most important election....TRUE ! The future of Social Security, Medicare, Education, Justice, the Supreme Court...and more ... are at stake .
That is why I hope you will join SENIORS FOR BIDEN to help elect him. Everyone can do something besides vote...even if you are home bound, there are opportunities to make a difference. Go to Facebook (you don't have to be a member), search SENIORS FOR BIDEN (the Florida page) and click LIKE...There are weekly meetings electronically, activities and opportunities to suit everyone's time/ability, etc Jon of "Bowser from Sha Na Na fame) is at those meetings and frequently motivates us with music!
Be sure you are registered to VOTE. VOTE BY MAIL (VBM) because: It's safe (cannot be hacked). It's convenient (vote in your pajamas). It's secure (you can track your ballot).
While RC 43 CANNOT ENDORSE any candidates....we do align ourselves with the endorsements of AFT, NEA, UFT , NYSUT, the Florida Alliance for Retired Americans and of course the AFL CIO.
