The Medicare Open Enrollment Period is the time during which Medicare beneficiaries can make new choices and pick plans that work best for them.

Each year Medicare plan costs and coverage change. Your healthcare needs may have changed as well. The open enrollment period is your opportunity to best match your health and prescription drug plans to your current needs. Carefully review what you have and assess what you need. Ask: Are you satisfied with your coverage and level of care? Has your health changed? Does your plan meet your needs and fit your budget?
The Open Enrollment has begun and runs through December 7. Any changes will be effective January 1, 2020.
During this time, you can:
• Join Medicare prescription drug (Part D) plan
• Switch from on Part D to another
• Drop your Part D coverage entirely
• Switch from Original Medicare to Medicare Advantage
• Switch from Medicare Advantage to Original Medicare
• Change from one Medicare Advantage plan to a different Medicare Advantage
• Change from a Medicare Advantage plan that offers prescription drug coverage to a Medicare Advantage plan that does not offer prescription drug coverage or the reverse
2020 is bringing changes!
• The end of the Medicare Part D “donut hole”: the coverage gap will officially close (you will now pay no more than 25% after you meet your plan's deductible
• New Medicare Advantage features
• TWO MEDIGAP plans will be DISCONTINUED
