Dear Retiree,
I imagine you are aware that President-elect Trump has nominated Betsy DeVos to serve as U.S. Secretary of Education. This nomination makes it clear that education policy will focus on privatizing, defunding and destabilizing public education in America. Ms. DeVos has no educational experience. She does not have a degree in education. She has never worked in a school - public or private which in my opinion, should disqualify her from serving in this role.
I have called and written our Senators asking them to deny her confirmation. I encourage you to do the same.
